Tilbury 5-3 Phoenix Sports
From Chadfields
Ryman One North
TILBURY won an eight-goal thriller with Phoenix Sports in a match that had everything.
Goals, own goals and dismissals featured on a highly entertaining afternoon at Chadfields, with Harry Cook netting a brace for the hosts.
Emiel Aiken had opened the scoring for the home team in style, only for Phoenix, the league’s newcomers, to equalise five minutes later through Ricky Freeman.
Level at the break, it only took two minutes of the second-half for the Dockers to restore their lead. Neil Richmond was the man who netted, with the visitors Jacob Mingle sent off on the hour mark.
Kurt Smith made it 3-1 eight minutes later, with Cook scoring his first five minutes after.
Alex Tenola pulled one back, and when Jake Pooley put through his own net two minutes after that strike, alarm bells were ringing for Tilbury.
But Cook had the last laugh.
Tilbury: Bogard, Mead, J Cook (Glozier), D Smith, Pooley, Game, Babalola, Carlile, Aiken (Martin), Richmond (H Cook), K Smith
