CHILDREN have been learning about the importance of personal hygiene through a new book.
Health bosses across south Essex have developed a new children’s book to teach children about the importance of washing their hands to prevent the spread of illness.
The book tour has started at Great Wakering Primary School, in High Street, Great Wakering.
Entitled, What’s Bugging Johnny, the book is the second in a series to help keep people happy and healthy.
The book contains advice for both children and parents on both preventing and treating diarrhoea and vomiting.
It is hoped that the book with help to prevent the spread of bugs such as norovirus, which is the most common stomach bug in the UK.

All children at the school were given a free book, which will also be available in children’s centres and GP practices.
