MORE than 60 residents and businesses have already signed up for a new art festival coming to Southend next month.

Between March 22 and 24, Windows in homes and businesses across Southend are set to be transformed into bright and colourful pieces of art.

This is as part of new festival plans, organised by Southend Council to turn homes in houses, flats, bungalows and businesses into vibrant canvases adorned with captivating art, colours, and lights.

The council has confirmed the “Window Wanderland” project is coming to Southend between March 22 and 24 and is continuing to urge residents to get involved and turn their windows into pieces of art.

The event invites participation from everyone from individual residents, to shops, to offices.

Participants are encouraged to unleash their imagination, illuminating their windows with unique displays during the festival, transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary showcases.

A spokesman for Visit Southend added: “We have had more than 60 residents and businesses sign up for our Window Wanderland, but we want more.

“The concept is simple - decorate a window which can be seen from the street – and help transform Southend into a city-wide gallery.”

Residents will need to sign up to be a part of the event, as for the event participating properties will be highlighted on a map so visitors can embark on a unique walking tour of Southend.
