CRAIG Edwards says two of his star Billericay Town performers may be out out for the season.

Influential midfielder Callum Dunne and defender George Beavan have been sidelined for the last four weeks with star striker Ricky Sappleton also out of contention for the next month.

Edwards’ side has struggled for goals this term, with Seedy Njie, Chris Benjamin, Junior Appiah and Rowan Liburd only netting five times in 47 appearances between them.

Njie, Benjamin and Appiah have since been released, with Liburd loaned out to Thamesmead Town.

Edwards hopes new additions Afolabi Obafemi, Jacob Cleaver, Liam Nash, Roman Michael-Percil and Harry Baker will change that, and show their quality against Peacehaven & Telscombe tomorrow.

“The injuries are a problem but the early signs are these new lads will come in and score goals,” he said. “Sapps has scored eight in 16 starts for us but he keeps picking up these niggling injuries.”

Edwards’ men hadn’t played out a draw all season but have shared the points twice in the last six days – taking impressive points at Kingstonian and Hendon.

The two draws ended a run of five consecutive league defeats.

“The draws ended what was a bad period for us and I don’t think Sapps absence coinciding with that is a coincidence.”

In the Ryman North Great Wakering Rovers visit Dereham Town, looking to move past their 4-0 reverse against Wroxham midweek.

Dan Trenkel’s 22nd placed side have kept two clean sheets in their last three league games and will be aiming to upset the odds against the Norfolk outfit.
