Wealdstone 1–0 Concord Rangers

From The Vale

Conference South

A SINGLE goal condmened Concord Rangers to defeat against old rivals Wealdstone.

The Beachboys had to divert their attentions from their FA Cup exploits as they returned to Conference South action at the Stones.

Danny Cowley’s side normally enjoy feisty encounters against Wealdstone and the hosts were looking for revenge after Concord knocked them out of the FA Cup earlier in the season.

But a goal 15 minutes from time from Scott McGleish did the damage to send the visitors back home empty-handed and hand Wealdstone their first home win of term.

Concord dominated the early stages and should have taken the lead when midweek hero Jordan Chiedozie shot, only to be denied by Jonathan North.

After the break, the away side picked up from where they left off but couldn’t find a way past North.

And, having soaked up the pressure, Shaun Lucien nipped past two men and crossed for McGleish to score the only goal of the game.
