ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Hullbridge Sports are hopeful of hosting their first home game in two months when Newham come to town.

Sports have seen bad weather ruin their home fixtures this season.

In fact, they haven’t played at home since Tuesday, January 6 and the club are looking to record their third straight win.

Newham have already beaten Sports this season, winning 3-2 last August, and Sports are looking for revenge. Captain Rob Hodgson remains absent, although Mark Bliss is confident of recalling vice-captain Dean Wallace after he recovered from an injury.

Goalkeeper Crawford Plenderleith is expected to fill in at the expense of the injured Bobby Mason.

Bowers & Pitsea face the toughest test of their promotion credentials to date when they welcome joint league-leaders Barking to the Len Salmon Stadium.

Rob Small has led Bowers to 12 successive wins but face a Barking side bang in form themselves, having triumphed 11 times in their last 13 outings.

A win could see Bowers climb into the top four and reach 50 points, a target they have only made three times this century, although Bowers have 18 games to play.

Basildon United host Waltham Forest as they look to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 loss to struggling Greenhouse London on Wednesday.

The Bees had a number of injuries ahead of the match but are expected to have a fully-fit squad.

Southend Manor have a bottom-of-the-table encounter with Greenhouse London, who occupy 18th spot in the division.

Manor have lost 14 of their last 15 matches in the league.
