ECHOSPORT chats to Fleetwood Town supporter Jamie Houghton ahead of tomorrow’s game at Roots Hall.

Fleetwood have been beaten just once in the league so far this season. How happy have you been with their start?

“We have made a really good start to the season.

“Most fans would have been happy with safety but we have been proven hard to beat and have started playing good football under Uwe Rosler.

“I hope the club can make mid table this season and avoid another relegation dog fight.

“We don’t want to be going through that again!”

Southend fans will know all about Fleetwood defender Cian Bolger who joined the club after leaving Roots Hall last summer. How has he done for you so far?

“He really hasn’t had much game time but in pre-season he looked good.

"We have lots of competition at centre back now which can only be a good thing.”

Who would you say was the Fleetwood danger-man Southend should be keeping an eye out for this weekend?

“Jimmy Ryan is our playmaker and should be playing at a higher level than League One. He never stops running.”

What memories do you have of the previous games between Southend and Fleetwood?

“Not very good ones to be honest!

“I remember losing at Southend on a Friday night and Gareth Evans missing a penalty.

“Hopefully we’ll do better this weekend but we’ve not won at Roots Hall yet.”

What’s the team news ahead of the game. Will anyone be missing out with suspension or injury?

“There are no new injury concerns and no new signings since the last game so I think the team will be the same that started against Bolton.”

What’s Fleetwood’s predicted line up?

Neal, McLaughlin, Eastham, Bell, Pond, Nirennold, Ryan, Ball, Hunter, Jonsson, Long.
