RUNDOWN: Both Concord Rangers and Whitehawk have had surprisingly slow starts to the season, with both looking to set that record straight tomorrow afternoon.

The Beach Boys have lost five of their six matches while south-coast Whitehawk sit 19th following Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at St Albans, having been perennial play-off threats in recent years.

Although very early in the season, both will want to right the wrongs from the opening weeks today, and following weekend defeats both will be even more determined to get the points.

WHAT HAPPENED ON SATURDAY?

A single goal was enough to decide this top versus bottom clash between Concord and Maidenhead.

Harry Pritchard's goal enough to gift his side the points in a very closely contested match.

Dean Mason shot off target early on, with Harvey Hodd the next to come close, with Carl Pentney called upon in the away goal.

James Mulley poked an effort wide of the right hand post with Maidenhead’s best effort of the half.

Alan Massey’s header was cleared off the line as the pressure intensified.

Concord came out looking a little more determined in the second period, and fashioned a wonderful chance for Joao Carlos, but his left-footed effort drew a spectacular save from Pentney.

The only goal came on the hour mark, shortly after Sean Marks had squandered a glorious chance.

Pritchard stepped up to swing in a wide free-kick which evaded everyone and nestled in the corner.

And that was how it stayed.
