TONBRIDGE ANGELS V BILLERICAY
RUNDOWN: This promises to be one of Billericay’s toughest trips of the season, with Tonbridge setting the pace in the opening weeks of term.
Eight goals scored, and two goals conceded has shown them to be in bullish mood, as they bid to win promotion, following a play-off semi-final defeat to East Thurrock United last season.
A familiar face in the Angels ranks is centre-back George Beavan, who was Billericay’s vice-captain last season. He has played with central attacker Ricky Sappleton in the past, so the burly forward will need to be on his game this afternoon.
Angels slipped up against Met Police two days ago, drawing 1-1, while it wasn’t a good day for Billericay.
WHAT HAPPENED ON SATURDAY?
Two first-half goals saw Bognor Regis Town past Billericay Town at New Lodge.
James Fraser hit a double to help Bognor past the Essex outfit, although Billericay started the brighter.
Junior Luke hit the post with the score at 0-0 as Billericay provided the early intent, although Bognor got the first goal.
Fraser scored the first of the afternoon with an accomplished finish and made it 2-0 shortly before the break to put the visitors in charge.
Town pressed after the break but couldn’t get the goal they craved as it ended 2-0.
