l RUNDOWN: Great Wakering Rovers will fancy their chances against bottom-of-the-table Wroxham tomorrow, as they bid to find some consistency.

Manager Gary Ansell has bemoaned his side’s inconsistency so far this season, with Wakering yet to win two games in a row.

They were beaten 1-0 by VCD Athletic this week, following a smash-and-grab victory against Thamesmead Town last weekend.

And with tough matches against Brightlingsea Regent and Cheshunt to come, Ansell will be keen to get three points on the board in this match.

Ansell is in Monaco on business this weekend, meaning coaches Rob Polkinghorn and Steve King will take the game.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Wakering boss Gary Ansell said: “Looking at the table I would expect points but I have learned that expecting points and getting them are different things.

“If we show the same desire on Tuesday we will get something. We were superb and deserved something whereas we were poor last Saturday and got the win.

“I will be expecting a result. I will try and stay in contact but I have full trust in Rob and Steve. Me not being there might even take some pressure off the boys!

“Pugs (James Pugsley) has been a loyal servant and his attitude and commitment is the best I have known.

“But Josh Banton and Jack Gardner have limited James’ opportunities and they have been outstanding. We have a very strong squad and everyone feels they should play.”

l TEAM NEWS: Defender and last year’s player of the seasonPugsley left the club following Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to VCD Athletic, having played 165 times for the club. Tony Jacobs is out (work) as is Josh Banton (unavailable). John Easterford is back from suspension.
