OLLIE Pinnock made it four victories in a row as a professional boxer - but was still left disappointed by his performance.

The Leigh-based 35-year-old beat Sheffield’s Nathan Hardy on points at York Hall in Bethnal Green.

But Pinnock was frustrated not to have secured a more convincing victory.

“I wasn’t entirely pleased with my performance overall but, I’m still pleased to come away with the win,” said Pinnock.

“It was my first six-round fight as a professional and I started very well behind the jab, with good footwork and head movement.

“However late in the second round I lost a bit of concentration.

“I walked into a few big shots that probably cost me rounds two and three.

“I’d recovered by round four and got back to my boxing, winning the next three rounds to win on points by two rounds.”

The referee scored the fight 58-56 in Pinnock’s favour.

And he is now preparing for his next fight, which will again be taking place at York Hall, in early December.

“I’m very excited to be fighting again in 10 weeks as it means I can jump straight back into training after a week off,” said Pinnock.

“I need to start racking up the fights and wins now as I am not getting any younger.

“We are looking at a southern area title eliminator fight early next year once I get December’s fight out the way. “ Pinnock was also keen to thank sponsors Ocean Shipbrokers, Southend Combat Academy and Evolution Gym.
