THE Essex Derby in the National League South between Billericay Town and Chelmsford City ended in a share of the spoils with a 3-3 draw at New Lodge, reports Leon Imber.
Kevin Watson’s Billericay side took a 3-0 lead within 20 minutes, Jake Robinson was on target and the returning Rowan Liburd bagged a brace for Town.
However, despite the flying start, cracks began to show in the home side’s defence and by half time, Jake Cass and Tom Wraight had reduced the deficit to just one goal.
Therefore it was no suprise to see Adam Morgan level the game in the 60th minute, but with momentum on their side, Chelmsford couldn’t add to their tally for the night.
The result sees both sides keep their position in the standings with Watson’s men sitting 16th in the National League South table.
Robinson’s latest goal makes him the joint highest goal scorer in the division.
