Beaten - Ryan Peniston lost in the first round of qualifying at the US Open
RYAN Peniston has been beaten in the first round of qualifying at the US Open.
Peniston, who is from Great Wakering, has been nursing a wrist injury since his summer exploits which included reaching the second round of Wimbledon and the quarter finals at Queen's.
But in his first appearance since SW19 he was beaten 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 by Italian Matteo Arnaldi.
