RYAN Peniston has been beaten in the first round of qualifying for the Australian Open.
The 27-year-old, from Great Wakering, is looking to build on a successful 2022 season which saw him reach the second round at Wimbledon.
But he suffered disappointment in Melbourne today, losing to Canadian Alexis Galarneau 7-6, 6-2.
Peniston is currently ranked 150 in the world/
