RYAN Peniston is relishing his meeting with number two seed Holger Rune at Queen’s today.

Peniston beat the world number six at Eastbourne last summer.

And the 27-year-old from Great Wakering is looking forward to facing him again.

"I will be looking forward to playing him," said Peniston.

"I definitely take confidence from matches in the past as well."

Peniston shocked French number Ugo Humbert to set up this afternoon's showdown.

Victory would see Peniston reach the quarter-finals of the cinch Championships for the second summer in succession.

But last season's success means Peniston has plenty of ranking points to defend this time around.

And Peniston is fully aware of the situation.

"I think I'd be lying if I said it wasn't in my head," said Peniston.

"It's probably been in my head for a while but I think just have to try and deal with those thoughts in a way that lets you compete well and perform like you want to."

Peniston's match with Rune is third on centre court this afternoon.

The Dane beat Maxime Cressy 7-6, 7-6 in his first round clash.
